Literature Text

Dear Me,

Close your eyes and take deep breaths.
Keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Each tear, bruise, blood drop and broken heart will be an invaluable lesson.
If we didn't make mistakes we'd have nothing to learn from; we'd never evolve.

It is better to leap and look silly for it
than to resent having never leapt.

You are allowed to bend, it doesn't mean you will break.
"That which yields is not always weak".

It will all be worth it in the end.
Your life will change so completely you will barely recognise it.

It will never be easy, but it will get so much better.
Just have hope and live.

I haven't written anything in a long, long time, and I dare say this is complete crap. :slow:

:bored: It's late and I came upon a contest that really sparked my interest. So, this is a letter composed to a younger me. I'd say I aimed this for 12 or 13 year-old me.
I saw in the gallery many people composed complete letters, but I know that at that age I would have scoffed and thrown the letter in the bin, believing it conceited of my future self to assume to know so much about younger me.
I also wouldn't want to warn younger me of any future events because I believe that to do so would change who I became; who I am.
I've always love quotes and one liners, so this would have appealed to younger me.

Side note: I quoted a line from Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel's Legacy series. ...It's the one in quotation marks...

Anywho.
